The 3 Levels of the Program

The 3 Levels of the Death to Diabetes® Program
The Death to Diabetes Wellness Program is very flexible, and has 3 levels of severity, depending on how long you've been diabetic, how many complications you have, your age, and how many medications you're taking. The more sick you are, the more reason that you need to follow the more strict level of the program , i.e. Level 3.

Level 1: This is the base level of the program that most Type 2 diabetics can follow unless they have major complications and other health issues. This level of the program does not require organic foods, but does require 40-60% raw foods, lightly-steamed; raw juicing at least 1-2 times a day; no animal meat; (lean, no skin) some "dead" processed foods (2-3 servings a day); 3-4 meals/snacks a day;  blood glucose testing 4-5 times a day; exercise 20-30 minutes a day, 4 times a week; detox at least once every 3-6 months; some emotional support; journaling, record-keeping.

Level 2: This level of the program is for diabetics who may have one or more additional health issues. This level of the program requires some organic foods, 60-70% raw foods, lightly-steamed; raw juicing at least 2-3 times a day; some animal meat; (organic, free-range); some "dead" processed foods (1-2 servings a day); 4-5 meals/snacks a day;  blood glucose testing 4-6 times a day; exercise 30-40 minutes a day, 4-5 times a week; detox at least once every 2-3 months; daily emotional support; detailed journaling, record-keeping.

Level 3: This is the most stringent level of the program, reserved for Type 2 diabetics who want to reverse their diabetes in less than 90 days. This level of the program is also for Type 1 diabetics; and, also for Type 2 diabetics who have multiple health problems and take a lot of drugs. Mostly organic foods, 70-95% raw foods, lightly-steamed; raw juicing at least 4-6 times a day; no animal meat; no "dead" processed foods; 4-7 meals/snacks a day;  blood glucose testing 4-7 times a day; exercise 50-60 minutes a day, 4-6 times a week; detox at least once every 1-2 months; daily emotional support; detailed journaling, record-keeping.

In general, most diabetics can follow the base Level 1 of the program in most cases. However, if you find yourself struggling or hitting a wall, then, you should move to Level 2. If you still struggle and as long as finances are not a concern, you should move to Level 3 of the program. Once you reach Stage 4, you can dial it down to Level 2 as long as you are able to maintain proper blood glucose stabilization.  Once you reach Stage 6, you can dial it down to Level 1, again as long as you are able to maintain proper blood glucose stabilization.

Simply Raw?
The Simply Raw videos have awakened many people to the power of eating raw to help heal their bodies. But, not everyone can eat raw foods every day for the rest of their lives! And, there's more to defeating diabetes than eating raw foods.

The Death to Diabetes Program goes beyond "eating raw" as there are multiple therapies for reversing Type 2 diabetes. Eating raw is one way to address the nutritional component of reversing your diabetes.

Although nutrition is one of the most important components, there are several other wellness components that a diabetic has to address beyond just "eating raw" -- if they truly want to reverse their diabetes permanently.
Some of those wellness components and activities that the Death to Diabetes Program addresses includes the following:
  • The other foods can that a diabetic can eat besides "raw"
  • How to shop for groceries properly
  • How to safely wean off the drugs
  • How to buy test strips (for free!)
  • How to perform blood glucose testing the right way and without the pain
  • How to get your doctor to work for you
  • How to detox properly
  • How to select nutritional supplements properly and not waste your money on the wrong supplements
  • How to use spirituality to fight the stress of being diabetic
  • How to deal with your family and friends who judge you for being diabetic, and don't really understand the frustration, fear, and anxiety of being diabetic
  • How to juice properly (many diabetics juice the wrong foods!)
  • How to make smoothies the right way
  • How to build a support system
  • How to perform meal planning effortlessly
  • How to save money. Diabetes leads many people to bankruptcy and homelessness because of the medical debt created by Western Medicine.
  • Please Note: This is unfortunate, but some of our senior clients struggled with going raw. So, we had to provide other options for them in order to reverse their diabetes, i.e. lightly-steamed vegetables, vegetable juicing, green smoothies, detox, etc.

The Death to Diabetes 6-Stage Program

The Diabetes Medical Wellness 6-Stage Model

Mr. McCulley admits that it was very intimidating when he realized everything that he would have to do to manage his diabetes. Trying to navigate through the various activities every day was very intimidating and confusing at times. There was a lot to remember: from pricking his finger 6-8 times a day, to recording the blood glucose readings, analyzing the readings, injecting himself with insulin 4 times a day, taking other medications (i.e. Coumadin, Lipitor), planning meals, preparing the meals, shopping for groceries, making doctor appointments, recordkeeping, and finding time to exercise.

Mr. McCulley was surprised to discover that there was no structured, systematic step-by-step process that would guide him through managing his diabetes on a daily basis. As a result, once he got well and decided to write the book, he decided to develop a structured step-by-step process and a set of charts and templates so that other diabetics would not be as overwhelmed as he was. This led him to develop the 6-stage model, the 10-step process, and his train-the-trainer program for health advocates and other healthcare professionals. The 6-stage model provides an overall guide of what to do on a monthly basis. The 10-step model provides a guide of what to do on a daily basis. The training program explains how to train and educate others.

Later on, he developed several meal planning diagrams, charts  and journal templates that would make it easier for diabetics to track their daily activities and monthly progress.

The Solution to Your Problem: Stop the Rot!

You have a problem: diabetes, a rotting disease.
Mr. McCulley has the solution to your problem (to stop the rot): his Death to Diabetes Wellness Program.
That's the way engineers think -- give them a problem, and they give you a solution.

They use their engineering skills, analytical skills, test data, clinical research, their experience, and their understanding of diabetes pathology, medical sciences, and how the body works (physiology), to design a unique solution to your health problem that actually works -- to reverse your diabetes!

And, if you don't believe that Type 2 diabetes is reversible, then, read this web page for a list of the new studies and reports, and what some medical doctors are now saying!

But, Mr. McCulley did more than find a solution to Type 2 diabetes. Because he focused on how to strengthen the immune system and several other wellness principles (based on how the body repairs, heals, and fights disease), he developed a program (and a 3000-page book) called "Death to All Diseases". However, he couldn't publish a 3,000-page book, so he extracted his wellness strategies and diabetes-specific information to develop the book called "Death to Diabetes".

Consequently, his program (and his book) can be used to address most systemic diseases and illnesses, i.e. i.e. heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer prevention, arthritis, fatigue, kidney problems, eye problems, nephropathy, neuropathy, etc.
[FYI: About 23% of our clients are non-diabetics].

Did You Know That?:  The "Death to Diabetes" book has become one of the top-selling diabetes books in the country while helping thousands of diabetics. "Death to Diabetes" has recently been rated as one of the top-rated medical books and top-rated health books in the country, by several medical groups and health groups! The book is now being sold internationally in countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, South Africa, India, China, Australia, and Brazil.

The Death to Diabetes Wellness Program (documented in the book) is based upon a well-structured  and results-driven 6-stage medical and integrative wellness model, based on the wellness principles  of Western Medicine, Alternative Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM).

This 6-stage medical wellness model is designed for the diabetic and his/her doctor to better track their progress. This model is also designed to allow the diabetic to go beyond just controlling the disease to help repair/heal the body and possibly reversing the disease by utilizing multiple alternative therapies, i.e. nutrition, detox, juicing, meditation, exercise, spirituality, etc.

This wellness model utilizes the medical standard for blood glucose testing combined with superior nutrition, proper exercise, frequent blood glucose testing/analysis, spiritual health, periodic doctor visits and physical exams.

This model takes the best from Western Medicine, Alternative Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) to develop an optimum and user-friendly program for the diabetic, and for the doctor.

This model includes a superior nutritional model (called the Super Meal Model for Diabetics) that encompasses attributes of several well-known diets, including the South Beach Diet, Mediterranean Diet, and Raw Food Diet.

As a result, the Death to Diabetes Wellness Program is more than a diabetes program! It is a wellness program that both diabetics and non-diabetics can use to improve their health.

The Death to Diabetes program is not a weight loss program. As previously mentioned, this program is a wellness program. This program focuses on how to improve the wellness and overall health of your body. Your body will either lose weight (or gain weight) in order to achieve overall wellness. Unfortunately, most diabetes programs focus strictly on weight loss instead of how to either prevent the disease or how to attack the disease and improve the body's overall health.

Even if you're only pre-diabetic, the Death to Diabetes program can still help you prevent your body from becoming full-blown diabetic. In addition, the Super Meal Model diabetic diet is very flexible and customizable so that you can adjust the macronutrient balance and percentages to gradually increase muscle mass, maintain your current weight, or lose weight (if you're overweight).

The creator of this Super Meal Model has used his engineering prowess to  integrate several powerful engineering methodologies with various medical sciences to take integrative and alternative medicine to an entirely different level of effectiveness. This has dramatically increased the success rate of the Death to Diabetes program for thousands of diabetics, improving the quality of their lives physically, emotionally, and financially.

Note: The purpose of this model was not to reinvent the wheel, but to use the best that medical science has to offer, and frame it in a structured model that would allow for easier tracking and identification of the need for corrective actions -- to achieve sustained blood glucose stabilization, reduced insulin resistance, reduced inflammation, increased energy production, and optimum health.

Note: The "heart" of this wellness program is a true diet for diabetics, that is more than just a diet for diabetics. This diet is truly the most comprehensive diet available to diabetics and others (non-diabetics) fighting diseases such as heart disease, cancer, kidney disease, nerve disease, eye disease, obesity, arthritis, and osteoporosis. This diet is anti-inflammatory,  anti-heart disease, and anti-cancer. This diet is an overall wellness diet that focuses on how to improve your overall health and wellness -- since most of these diseases are driven by poor eating habits and the lack of critical nutrients for the body. As a result, this diet will help to prevent many diseases beyond just Type 2 diabetes.

The Death to Diabetes® 6-Stage Model (Roadmap)

Death to Diabetes: The 7 Wellness Factors to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes
The Death to Diabetes® Management, Control & Reversal Model

The foundation of this diabetes wellness program is a six-stage model that guides the diabetic through diabetes management, control and possible reversal.

Note: This is the only known wellness program that provides such a well-structured blueprint from illness to wellness that any layman can follow.

Stage 1 No BG Control: is the stage where the majority of diabetics usually find themselves in the beginning, with an average fasting blood glucose (BG) level that is greater than 126 mg/dl or an oral glucose test measurement greater than 200 mg/dl. During this stage (and the next 2 stages), you must avoid all of the 5 "dead" foods as much as possible.

Stage 2 BG Control with Drugs: is the stage where most diabetics transition to when they underestimate the disease and are unable to improve their cell health and control their blood glucose level with nutrition and exercise. During this stage the diabetic and his/her doctor are trying to use drugs to help lower the diabetic’s blood glucose level and eventually bring it within the normal range.

Warning! This is the stage where most diabetics fall in love with their diabetic drugs, cholesterol-lowering statin drugs, and high blood pressure drugs. Why? Because these drugs actually work as advertised! They lower your blood glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure! So, most diabetics think that they're actually getting healthier!! But, you're not! The drugs create a false sense of security and a strong belief that the drugs are the answer. Eventually, you'll find yourself taking even more drugs! Have you ever heard of anyone getting better from taking more diabetic drugs?

Stage 3 BG Control with Reduced Drugs: is the next stage for a diabetic to reach after he/she realizes that drug therapy is not the long-term answer. Most diabetics are able to lower their blood glucose level and reduce some of the dosage levels for their prescription drugs during this stage.  In fact, many diabetics experience weight loss and consistent lower blood glucose readings during this stage.

But, it actually becomes a more difficult battle because the cells  still have to deal with the disease and the drugs, even though the diabetic is taking less drugs. The drugs continue to fuel the diabetes and create an impedance to the body’s healing process.

Stage 4 BG Control with No Drugs: is the most difficult stage for most diabetics  to reach. But those who embrace the program and follow the steps outlined in Chapters 14 and 15 reach this stage by being able to consistently control their blood glucose with nutrition and exercise and the need for no drugs. They are able to reduce the amount of insulin resistance and inflammation in their cells, enabling their body to repair the cells and the cellular/tissue damage caused by the diabetes.

Unfortunately, some diabetics relax during this stage because they are not aware that there is still work to be done to actually reverse and eradicate the disease, or, at least, sustain blood glucose stabilization. As a result, they regress back to Stage 1 when their average glucose level eventually rises above 126 mg/dl and remains there.

Stage 5 BG & HbA1C Control: indicates that the average blood glucose level and hemoglobin A1C are both consistently within the normal range without the need for any drugs. This stage is easier to achieve once you've reached Stage 4 because your body is no longer fighting the disease and the drugs!

Stage 6 BG & HbA1C Tighter Control+: indicates that the cells are healthy as the average blood glucose level and hemoglobin A1C are consistently within a tighter range without the need for any drugs; and, the disease is totally reversed – no insulin resistance and no inflammation. In addition, other critical health parameters are within their normal ranges, e.g. blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), minerals, enzymes, homocysteine, cholesterol.

Note: In order to reach the final stage, you must have completed all 10 steps of the program as explained in Chapter 16 (Page 329). In most cases, this requires the use of (some) raw foods, raw juicing, periodic cleanse/detox, targeted wholefood nutritional supplementation, regular exams/blood tests, and emotional support as explained in Chapters 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, and 15.

Note: You'll know that you have reached Stage 6 (and your diabetes has been completely reversed) when you are able to eat  (some) "dead" foods without experiencing any blood glucose spikes. In addition, your average blood glucose must be under 100 for 6 consecutive months, post-meal blood glucose must be under 110, A1C under 5.4%. In addition, your blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI and cardiac risk inflammation markers must be in the normal range. By maintaining these metrics, you will prevent the onset of diabetic complications with the eyes, nerves, kidneys, and cardiovascular system.

Based upon the etiology of Type 2 diabetes, the analysis of its pathogenesis, and the sciences of disease, including pathophysiology, pathological anatomy, biochemistry, and psychopathology, the above diagram provides a high level overview of the six stages and the eight “living” elements of Type 2 diabetes control and reversal. This model is very flexible and can be customized to suit your health needs and lifestyle; and, can be used by you and your doctor to better track your progress.

In general, it will take more time to get from Stage 1 to Stage 4 than from Stage 4 to Stage 6 because it will take more time for the body  to overcome the effects of the drugs and repair the cells and reduce the insulin resistance/inflammation during the early stages. Once the body has started to heal, you can accelerate the timeline by utilizing multiple therapies, i.e. raw foods, juicing, detox, nutrition.

As you progress through each stage of the wellness program, your average blood glucose level will gradually return to the normal range, and your body will repair and rebalance itself, while preventing further damage and complications.
How long it takes for the body to repair and heal from the damage  caused by the diabetes is dependent on several key factors including:
  • How long the person has been diabetic
  • How many medications the diabetic is taking
  • The amount (dosage) of each medication
  • Avoidance of processed foods, and other "dead" foods
  • The number of Super Meals and Super Snacks that the diabetic consumes on a daily basis
  • The age of the diabetic
  • The frequency of blood glucose testing/analysis
  • The number and types of other complications, i.e. high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, eye health issues, nerve health issues, cardiovascular health issues, kidney health issues, etc.
Note:
Accelerating the repair process is especially important for people who want to wean off the drugs as soon as possible.

Author's Perspective about the 6 Stages of his Program:
Most diabetics are happy to reduce their blood glucose to the normal range and lose some weight -- but, they're still dependent on the drugs to keep their blood glucose in the normal range!

Remember that the primary goal of my program is to get healthy with blood pressure and blood tests readings in the normal range (Re: Chapters 3, 11, 14, 15).

When your body is healthy, the weight comes off as a by-product of being healthy! When your body is healthy, it no longer needs the extra fat or the drugs.

Eating healthy is more than reducing your calorie intake! I reduced my calorie intake to 1200 calories a day but my blood glucose didn't come down, I couldn't lose any weight, and I still required 4 insulin shots a day! After some research and self-testing, I realized that it was more about the quality of the food than the calories.

Note: The over-focus on calories is misunderstood and misapplied with most diet s and diabetes programs -- that's why they don't work! Reducing one's calorie intake does not stop the diabetes pathology from progressing in the body. The key is the quality and types of food that contain the missing nutrients that diabetics need for their bodies to address the underlying root causes of their diabetes. These missing nutrients help to initiate the healing and repair processes in the body and repair the damage caused by the diabetes. That, in turn, allows the diabetic to get the disease under control, stop its progression, and stop the spread of cellular damage. Once the progression of the disease is stopped, this provides the diabetic with the opportunity to reverse the disease pathology.

Besides eating properly, most people overlook some of the other key components of my program -- assuming the diabetic's objective is to get off the drugs and achieve Stage 4. [Re: Chapter 3 (the science of diabetes), Chapter 9 (how to detox properly), Chapter 11 (the critical blood/hormone tests), etc.]

Don't expect your doctor to support you and lower your drug dosage during Stage 2 and Stage 3. It's up to you to take responsibility. Unless your doctor is unique, he/she won't be happy to see you get off the drugs.
If you can afford it, increase your BG testing -- you can project your A1C if you test frequently enough.

As explained in Chapters 11 and 14, the real litmus test is two-fold: (1) What is your blood glucose 2 hours post meal; and, (2) What is your blood glucose without the drugs. That will give you a better sense of what you need to focus on.

Remember, the drugs artificially lower your blood glucose! The diabetes is still wreaking havoc on the inside! The drugs are just a cover-up to give you a false sense of security! Don't fall into that trap! Re-read Chapter 3 especially; and, also Chapter 12 -- about the drugs and what they really do.

For more information about the drugs, read the following web pages, which go beyond what's in the book:
http://www.deathtodiabetes.com/Drugs.html
http://www.deathtodiabetes.com/Drugs_-_Diabetes.html
http://www.deathtodiabetes.com/Drug_Companies.html
http://www.deathtodiabetes.com/Diabetes_-_Pathology.html

Once you reach Stage 4, your doctor may never speak to you again. But, who cares? You're healthier now. So, keep moving forward on your journey to wellness -- you're on the road to repair, recovery, and reversal (The 3 R's).

More About the Program
There are some misunderstandings about this program. First of all, this program is not a traditional diet or weight-loss program. It is a "get-well" program. If a person is overweight, they'll lose weight as a byproduct of "getting well". If a person needs to gain weight, they'll gain weight -- again, as a byproduct of "getting well". However, we do recommend that such a person get a complete physical exam to ensure that they're not losing weight because of some serious medical condition.

Also, the Death to Diabetes program is a relaxed and flexible program, not a strict, regimented program. It may appear to be overly strict because of the structured approach and the live/dead foods. But, this program gives you some flexibility by including some of your favorite foods (i.e. pasta, steak, mashed potatoes, French fries, apple pie) and still maintain blood glucose stabilization. The Death to Diabetes program is the only program that  actually explains how to enjoy your favorite foods  and still maintain proper blood glucose control.

The Death to Diabetes program is also a customizable program, not a one-size-fits-all program. Consequently, you can modify and customize the program to fit your specific health needs and lifestyle.

In addition, the Death to Diabetes program is a multi-faceted program. That is, the program uses multiple therapies to help you defeat your diabetes.

Raw Juicing

Author's Perspective: Raw juicing can help accelerate your body's repair process so that you can reverse your diabetes within 30 days -- as long as you adhere to all 10 steps of the Death to Diabetes program. Raw juicing is also an excellent way to transition to a raw food diet program.

FYI: Most people are aware of the obvious health benefits of raw juicing. However, due to TV infomercials, various health and nutrition books, and the Internet, there are some major misunderstandings and misuses of raw juicing. As a result, most people who try juicing give it up within 3-6 months! I also found myself answering an excessive number of questions about juicing via emails and workshops.

Consequently, I decided to do some research into various juicing books and juicing philosophies.  Interestingly, I discovered that a lot of assumptions about how the body functions when you juice was based on a healthy body, not an unhealthy body! -- such as a diabetic's body or someone who is overweight.

As a result, I decided to write an ebook about raw juicing that answered a lot of the misconceptions about raw juicing; and, provided additional information that the other juicing books overlooked or didn't think was important, i.e. how to make your juice taste scrumptious, how to properly store your vegetables and fruits.

Update 2010: Everyone loved Mr. McCulley's Power of Juicing book because it provided a lot more information than other juicing books (see below for details), plus, the recipes actually work! However, some of our clients stopped juicing after several months because they got tired of cleaning their juicer!  During one of the author's workshops, a young woman asked whether there was another way to get the benefits of juicing without having to deal with a juicer. Mr. McCulley mentioned that green smoothies could provide some of the same benefits, but most of the audience didn't know about green smoothies for diabetics. So, Mr. McCulley expanded the juicing book to include recipes for making green smoothies for diabetics and for people who wanted to lose weight.

Benefits of raw juicing and green smoothies include accelerated body repair and healing, reduced insulin resistance and inflammation, better blood glucose and insulin control, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, detox, healthier liver and kidneys, weight loss, reduced cravings, stronger immune system, the need for less medications, and the ability for diabetes reversal.

Note: If you bought the old juicing book (without the smoothie recipes), just contact our office with your Invoice number, and we will send you the updated juicing book free of charge.

The Power of Raw Juicing, Green Smoothies, & Raw Diet

Raw juicing works, but only as part of an overall superior nutritional program, such as the Death to Diabetes Super Meal Model. Most people who do not reap the benefits of raw juicing are juicing improperly!Reverse Type 2 Diabetes with Raw Juicing -- by juicing the wrong foods and/or by using the wrong type of juicer.

Juicing is a very powerful nutritional therapy, but most people misapply this therapy by preparing mostly fruit juices. Vegetable juicing is more powerful than fruit juicing, especially for people fighting diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, or any other degenerative disease.

If eating raw vegetables, salads and soups are not appealing enough to acquire the minimum 6 to 9 cups (5 to 7 servings) of vegetables and fruits each day, then, juicing may be an effective addition to your nutritional program. Even as a diabetic, juicing can be very nutritious as long as you drink mostly green vegetables/grasses and avoid drinking too many of the fruits.

Green juices (and green smoothies) have an alkaline reaction in the body and help protect against acid build-up as well as stimulate the body to manufacture hemoglobin. Green juices contain organic water, the purest most natural water available to us, and they cleanse the body of the waste within the cells and tissues.
Reverse Type 2 Diabetes with Raw Juicing
Green juices (and green smoothies) contain an abundance of chlorophyll, which is a molecule whose structure is almost exactly the same as the hemoglobin molecule of the human blood. Chlorophyll helps to repair tissue and is very important in helping to remove toxins from the body.

As a result, raw juicing can help to accelerate your body's repair process and help to reverse your diabetes in less time. In fact, you should notice your blood glucose level starting to come down during the first week of the Death to Diabetes Program! -- as long as you are following the entire program, not just the juicing component.

Juices are a perfect medium in which to mix and dissolve nutritional powders that will enhance their healing powers. The nutrients and herbs in powders are better absorbed than tablet forms of the same ingredients, and mixing them in juices enhances their solubility, digestion and absorption.

The juices bring the healing nutrients to the cells in the surface of the mucous membrane of the gut in an easily absorbed form. This requires much less energy to assimilate than solid tablets, especially in people with inflamed mucous membranes in the intestines.

Juices can be combined in so many ways to make them palatable and delicious. Their diverse colors and taste enable huge variety so that you will not get bored. For those who feel they need an extra boost there is nothing better than drinking 2 cups of raw vegetable juice everyday. It will brighten up your day by providing extra energy and endurance.

Raw juices are packed with living enzymes to assist the digestive process, which means your gut, liver and pancreas do not have to work very hard to extract almost 99% of the nutrients within the raw vegetables and fruits.

Raw Foods & Juicing Reverse Type 2 Diabetes
This conserves vital body energy, which means that the body does not feel heavy or weighed down after drinking raw juices.

For example, two cups of carrot juice (16 ounces) is approximately equivalent to eating one pound of raw carrots. Eating so many carrots at one time would be hard on the jaws and teeth and would take a long time to eat and digest. Juices are unique because they allow the gut to receive very concentrated amounts of phytonutrients that could not be obtained by eating a normal amount of raw vegetables and fruits.

Raw juices contain natural medicinal nutrients that provide antioxidant, antibiotic, and hormonal balancing benefits. For example, Brussel sprouts and string beans are known to contain insulin-like substances that can be beneficial to Type 2 diabetics, and especially Type 1 diabetics. In addition, phytonutrients needed by the pancreas to produce insulin are present in cucumber and onion juices; and, the phytonutrient properties of broccoli, carrot, celery, lettuce and spinach are also beneficial to diabetics.

For example, broccoli is an excellent source of chromium, which helps to regulate insulin usage in the body. Fresh juices of garlic, onions, radish and tomatoes contain various antibiotic properties. Alfalfa, olives, asparagus, lettuce, mustard greens, radishes, cabbage and cucumbers contain silicon, which works to support the pancreas. Wheat/barley grass, celery, kelp, cucumber and cabbage juice are excellent to reduce acidity and blood pressure.

Green, leafy vegetables such as spinach help to cleanse and heal the gastrointestinal tract. The phytonutrient properties of carrot are also beneficial to diabetics once they have their blood glucose level under control.

In general, to help improve the health of your heart, nerves, kidneys, and eyes, drink daily 2-4 cups of raw vegetable juices and smoothies.  Drinking as little as 3 cups of fresh vegetable juice each day will help the body detoxify and regenerate through the assimilation of the earth’s life-giving nutrients.

Note: Although fruits and vegetables do not contain large quantities of protein, their juice can be a convenient carrier for other sources of protein. Simply add some freshly-ground flaxseed powder, Brewer's yeast,  or wheat germ to whatever you're juicing. These will provide quality protein that is quickly and easily absorbed by the body without the fat that meat contains.

The raw juice is obtained using a device called a juicer. It works by feeding raw vegetables, grasses and fruits into a chute that pushes the food into a high-speed rotating blade that shreds the food, extracting the juice from the pulp. Use Juicer to Reverse Diabetes

This extraction process breaks down the cellulose barriers in the cells of the vegetables, grasses and fruits, allowing the release of powerful enzymes and other nutrients. Juicers are very powerful but are not as popular as blenders because they tend to be more difficult to use and to clean.

Consequently, it is important that you purchase a juicer with fewer parts, a powerful motor and a wide chute. This will prevent you from spending a lot of time cutting up the vegetables/fruits to fit down the chute of the juicer. Use Juicer to Reverse Diabetes

Depending on your needs and finances, purchase the appropriate juicer, e.g. twin gear press (vegetables and wheat grass), mastication, centrifugal ejection, single/dual auger (for wheat grass), or manual press (for fruits only).

Note: If you don't like to use a juicer, use your blender to make scrumptious "healthy milkshakes" known as smoothies. Use a Super Blender to Make Smoothies to Reverse Diabetes

But, make sure that you use a high-powered blender that can pulverize nuts and break down the cell walls of the vegetables without overheating the vegetables.

Note: To learn how to juice properly for blood glucose stabilization, insulin control, reduced insulin resistance, reduced inflammation, accelerated cell repair, and increased weight loss, get the Power of Juicing & Smoothies ebook. Also, get the Raw Food Diet ebook to help you get started with your raw food diet.

Note: Benefits of raw juicing and green smoothies include accelerated body repair and healing, reduced insulin resistance and inflammation, better blood glucose and insulin control, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, detox, healthier liver and kidneys, weight loss, reduced cravings, stronger immune system, the need for less medications, and the ability for diabetes reversal.

Drink raw juices (or smoothies) to reverse your diabetes.

Some people experience a detoxification reaction when they start the raw food diet, especially if their previous diet was rich in meat, sugar, and caffeine. Mild headaches, nausea, and cravings can occur but usually last for several days.

Precautions
The raw food diet may not be appropriate for certain people, such as:

    * Children
    * Pregnant or nursing women
    * People with anemia
    * People at risk for osteoporosis - A Washington University study found that people following a raw food diet had lower bone mass. Bone turnover rates, however, were similar to the group that ate a standard American diet.

Considerable time, energy, and commitment is needed to be healthy on the raw food diet. Many of the foods are made from scratch. Some ingredients may be hard to find, such as Rejuvelac (the fermented liquid drained from sprouted grains), sprouted flour, date sugar, young coconut milk, carob powder and Celtic sea salt.

People must be aware that certain nutritional deficiencies can occur on the raw food diet, including:

    * Calcium
    * Iron
    * B12 – The Journal of Nutrition study found that a raw food diet increased levels of homocysteine due to vitamin B-12 deficiency.
    * Protein
    * Calories

Critics of the raw food diet say while it’s true that some enzymes are inactivated when food is heated, it doesn’t matter because the body uses its own enzymes for digestion. In addition, cooking makes certain phytochemicals easier to absorb, such as beta-carotene in carrots.

Another critique is that the human body has changed in response to eating cooked foods. Some of these changes are that are jaws and teeth have become smaller, our stomachs have shrunk, and our small intestines have grown longer, lengthening the digestive surface area.

According to other alternative diet theories, such as macrobiotics, Ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine, a raw-only diet may not be appropriate for people living in colder climates or for people with certain constitutional types.

The Diabetic Diet

Diet for Diabetics: Stop the Rot!  Super Foods!

Super Meal Model to Reverse Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a rotting disease! You need to stop the rot!

The "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model Diet for Diabetics was designed by the author after reviewing and analyzing more than 30 different diets -- to address cell damage (rotting) and the body's  repair process -- to start reversing your diabetes within 30 days and prevent further cell damage and the onset of blindness, amputation, kidney failure, heart attack and stroke.

Note: If you adhere to the raw diet version of the "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model Diet, you will notice your blood glucose readings start to come down almost immediately! And, if you adhere to the complete program, including the detox, exercise, and drug weaning, you can get your blood glucose readings back to the normal range within 30 days.

The "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model Diet for Diabetics has many of the attributes of the Mediterranean Diet, Zone Diet, South Beach Diet, Raw Food Diet, and Asian Diet,  with critical nutritional modifications to address the real root causes of Type 2 diabetes and help to better control Type 1 diabetes with less insulin requirements.

Raw Vegetables Reverse Type 2 Diabetes
The "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model Diet for Diabetics  is part of a comprehensive 10-step and 6-stage  clinically-proven diabetes wellness program that is designed to stop the rot and improve the health of people suffering with  Type 2 diabetes as well as with Type 1 diabetes.

This nutritional model is a diet designed for diabetics, as well as non-diabetics because it helps to strengthen the immune system and address obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease,  chronic fatigue, and other similar systemic ailments.

Some people see this nutritional program (diet for diabetics) as a"low carb" diet, but, the author sees it as a lot more than just a "low-carb" diet. He prefers the term "balanced" diet because there is a balance of carbs, proteins, and fats that improves the overall health and wellness of the body.

Consequently, this nutritional program can be used by non-diabetics, who want to lose weight, lower their blood pressure, or just improve their overall health.

This "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model Diet for Diabetics  utilizes the 5 super foods to create combo-super foods, combo-super meals, and super snacks, including omelets, casseroles, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, soups,  stews, and stir-frys. And, don't forget the importance of key minerals such as magnesium, potassium, chromium, and real salt -- all working together to stop the rot and repair the damage.

Note: The Super Meal Model was designed by the author to make it easier for diabetics (and non-diabetics) to design healthy, balanced meals without having to spend a lot of time counting calories and carbohydrates. Calorie-counting ((and carb counting)) can be time-consuming and very frustrating. And, given everything that a diabetic has to deal with, the author felt it was important to keep things as simple as possible.

Note: Most people just throw veggies and other foods together to create these combo-super meals, but these meals are out-of-balance and lack the proper balance of macronutrients and micronutrents. Without a proper balance of macronutrients and micronutrents, these combo-super meals do not contain the necessary nutrients to help you fight your diabetes! So, take out the guesswork and get the cookbook.

For the science behind the Super Meal Model Diet for Diabetics, read about nutritional science and the  clinical studies that the author used to design the model.

Raw Salads Reverse Type 2 Diabetes
The "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model is truly THE Diabetes Diet for Diabetics, because it is specifically designed to help control Type 1 diabetes and to help defeat and reverse Type 2 diabetes -- by providing a more sustained level of energy and key nutrients that diabetics (and non-diabetics) are missing when they consume the more traditional grain-based, overly-processed, nutrient-poor or starchy meal.

The "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model has a very nutrient-dense protocol that provides nutrients that are key to the effectiveness of THE Diabetes Diet including: carotenoids, antioxidants, Omega-3 EFAs (EPA, DHA), chlorophyll, magnesium, potassium, chromium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, fiber, water -- all designed to stop the rot and repair the damage caused by the diabetes (and the diabetic medications).

These critical nutrients help to strengthen your immune system, so that it can defend your body while initiating the necessary repair processes to repair the damage caused by the diabetes.

These critical nutrients are found in garlic, salt, super foods, healing foods, antioxidant-rich foods,    anti-inflammatory foods,   and other (organic) herbs & spices.

In addition, by avoiding the grain-based breakfast, the 5 "dead" foods, and many of the so-called “healthy” foods, diabetics and non-diabetics will not experience the mid-morning “crash” or craving for processed food/beverages. Over time, the "Death to Diabetes" Super Meal Model Diet for Diabetics will support blood glucose stabilization, cell repair and the regulation of the body's production and utilization of insulin.

Please Note: This diet is not a weight loss diet. This diet is a nutrient-dense wellness diet. This diet improves your wellness and your overall health.  Unfortunately, most diets focus strictly on weight loss instead of how to either prevent the disease or how to attack the disease and improve the body's overall health.
Even if you're only insulin-resistant or pre-diabetic, this diet's nutritional protocol can still help you prevent your body from becoming full-blown diabetic. Also, because this is a wellness diet, it can modified to address other health issues such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, chronic fatigue, hypoglycemia, gout, arthritis, lupus, sarcoidosis, etc.

Note: Refer to the clinical studies, including the China Study, which substantiate the benefits of a plant-based nutritional program to prevent and possibly reverse the effects of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers.
